The School of Medicine’s Center for the Study of Cannabis is pleased to announce a two-day, in-person workshop, “How to Draft and Publish Scientific Papers in High-Impact Journals” conducted by Dr. Randy Levinson. Dr. Levinson brings extensive experience as a former scientific manuscript editor for Nature Research.
The focus of this workshop will be on the best practices in scientific manuscript writing and an insider’s view into the process of getting papers published at top research journals. The goals of the workshop are to provide participants with:
- The tools to increase their confidence in manuscript writing, understanding the submission process, and navigating peer-review
- An understanding of common requirements to publish in top-tier scientific journals
- General strategies on science communication that are applicable beyond scientific paper drafting (e.g., grant writing)
The workshop includes lectures, practical exercises, and peer-to-peer interactions that cover all aspects of manuscript preparation and navigating the publishing process.This event is open to junior faculty, postdocs, research staff, clinical fellows, graduate and medical students. Attendance is limited to 24 individuals.
