In response to changes in societal attitudes toward cannabis, UC Irvine established the Center for the Study of Cannabis (CSC) in 2018. Grounded in two broad areas of research, the CSC fosters rigorous studies on the impact of cannabis on human health and the cultural narrative on cannabis and its shifting role in contemporary American society.
